【眼鏡で人生が変わる？/ Change your life with eyeglasses?】

突然ですが、みなさんは目がいいですか？
By the way, do you have good eyesight?

今日は日本の有名なメガネ屋さんをご紹介します。
I would like to introduce the famous eyeglasses shop in Japan.

とよふく様

千葉県にある「とよふく様」です。
This shop is “Toyofuku” located in Chiba prefecture.

とても評判が良く、全国からお客様が集まります。
The shop is highly valued and customers come here from all over Japan.

まずはランチから。
I ate lunch here.

全てのメニューがマクロビオティックのようです。
We can enjoy macrobiotics at this cafe.

身体にも心にも優しいお味でした。
The taste is good and made my body and heart fully satisfied.

（メニュー表には私の名前入り！ありがたいです）
The staff wrote my name at menu list. I really appreciated her kindness.

ランチ

それから、眼鏡合わせをさせていただきました。
Then, I got my eyes checked by an optometrist

2時間かけてじっくり。
It took me 2 hours. He checked my eyes very carefully.

こんなに細かく自分の目を診ていただいたのは初めてです。
It was my first time to have my eyes minutely checked from various aspects.

私の目は右目だけ使っており、まっすぐ見ることができていません。
I use only right eye and I cannot see things straight.

もとから両目で見ることが苦手だったようですが、14歳からコンタクトレンズを使い始めて拍車がかかったようです。
It seems that I was not good at looking at things with both eyes originally, this situation got worse since I started to use contact lens when I was 14 years old.

コンタクトはある一部分を見ることはすごく得意。
Contact lens can see clearly partially.

視力表の穴が開いた部分がよく見えるように。
It makes us to look at the target of near vision chart clearly.

でも全体的に見ることは苦手。
However, it is difficult to look at things as a whole.

とよふく様に合わせていただいた眼鏡をかけて実感しました。
I realized the difference when I wore the glasses at this shop.

見る世界が変わったのです。
The world I see was completely changed.

木々が鮮やかで立体的。
Trees are vivid in colors and more three-dimensional.

そして視界に入る全てのものが、一度によく見えるようになったのです。
Also, I can see all objects in view clearly at a time.

感動する私に、さらに素敵な言葉をかけてくださいました。
He gave me nice words when I was looking outside.

「目は脳とつながっているので、見方によって性格もつくられる。
“Our eyes are tied with our brain. Our characteristics depends on how you look at things.

全体が見えていないと、例えば、ある人のいいところを見て、この人はいい人だ、と判断する。
If you cannot see things overall, for example, you tend to judge that he is a good guy by looking at one of his aspects.

別の人の悪いところを見て、この人は苦手だ、と判断する。
When you look at one bad aspect of another guy, you tend to conclude that I cannot get along with him.

正しい見方をすれば、その人のいいところも悪いところも全てその人の一部だと受け入れることができるようになるよ」
If you have right point of view, you can accept both bad aspects and good aspects of that person because they are all part of his characteristics.”

確かに、私はよく「視野が狭い」と言われます。
To be sure, I am often told that I have a narrow view of things.

本当は探しているものがすぐ近くにあるのに見つからなかったり、
I cannot find soon what I am looking for even though it is nearby.

忙しくなると周りが見えずいつも焦っていたり、
I feel always rushed and I am lost when I am busy.

その人の一部分を見て、いい人、悪い人をすぐ判断したり。
I tend to judge he/she is good or bad by looking at just one of his/her characteristics.

いつもそんな自分が嫌いでした。
It always made me disappointed.

でも、偏った物の見方がそうさせていたのですね。
But I realized that my narrow view of things created this characteristic.
